Yorkton is located on the Trans Canada Yellowhead Highway between Winnipeg and Saskatoon.  The city is served by four major highways, two rail lines, bus lines and over a dozen trucking firms.

The city has a population of nearly 20,000, supported by the third largest trading area population in Saskatchewan, estimated at between 200,000 and 280,000.  The city has everything a student or traveling pilot should require.
